- Recent Letters from our happy puppy buyers -

From Bob in NY:

Sonia, just a quick update on Jasmin (our Cassidy);  All went well with the flight in.  She took to the air well and other than a bit of jet lag, seems none the worse for the experience. Cassidy is a gorgeous and happy puppy.  She has taken well to her new surroundings and is assimilating into her new family with grace and style.  She is such a curious and well behaved puppy.  Truly a credit to her breed!!  Training has begun and her intelligence is astounding.  Doing well with 'come' as well as 'sit-stay'.  She takes to the leash better every time we go out to the backyard.

House-training is going to be a breeze.  She already stands near the door when it's time.  She had only two small accidents inside and they were on the first day. We couldn't be happier with our new addition Sonia.  Cassidy is a joy and was highly complimented on her first trip to see Dr. Patricia.  The Vet. has two SAR dogs and is very impressed with the temperament and structure of Cassidy.

We will send pictures soon and promise to stay in touch regularly.

From Tony in OK:

Gun is 9 months old now, full of energy and very loving.  He is well into his training, we have been working with the German Shepherd Club.  Several people have admired Gunther's physical attributes and his temperament and have asked where we got him.  We are very pleased to tell them about Barenberg Shephards.  We are interested in Gunther getting his BH when he's 15 months old. We are attending a schutzhund trial in Tulsa on the 24th and 25th of this month, our first one!  Also, next year, we will be interested in purchasing another of your puppies.  Gunther is by far the best dog we have ever had, all the way around.  Hope you like the pictures!

Well,,,Josch or his real name now (Gustalvo,,Gus for short) is now home and he is wonderful, a bit tired but is eating a little right now and we absolutly love him, he is such a sweet heart.... thanks so much Sonia, we will be in touch always!!!! Your package of info is great and informative!!!! Thanks so much !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Sonia, Josch has adjusted and finally feels like himself, the plane ride did knock him down a little but after a couple of days he is full of puppy life!!!! Anyway, I want to thank you for the entire process, I was skeptical at first purchasing a puppy without holding or observing the Dam and Sire together but YOU made the process a joy and now I know you only raise the BEST!! I never met someone so 'IN LOVE' with what they do and take so much PRIDE in the German Shepherd breed as YOU!! I have attached a couple of pics of Josch and will be sending more as time goes on!! Thanks so much!!!

From Niranga in NH:

From Jennifer in OH:

Hello Sonia,

I am writing to let you know how Ike is doing. He is getting so big so fast! He is really a joy to have. He came here and basically potty trained his self. He is very smart and ready to learn! We are really happy with him. I have enclosed pictures for you to see how big he has gotten. When we took him to the vet he was already 20.4 pounds!

From Dana in MO:

Hi Sonia.....just wanted to send you an updated photo of Maddie/Dahli so you can see how incredibly gorgeous she's turning out to be!!  She has brought a lot of joy and laughter into our home, and we are lucky to have such an amazing animal as part of our family.

From Joanne and Karen in CO:

Here is an updated picture of Logan. He’s practicing “place” on our front step. We are going to puppy school with him and he is doing very well.  When “school” is over, the puppies get to play with one another.  Logan is the only one who quickly gets bored with playing and wants to get back to his lessons (probably because he wants more treats!).  The trainers we are working with also have German Shepherds and their dogs have been trained at multiple Schutzhund levels.  Our thinking at the moment is that Logan would enjoy agility training,
as we see that he is very smart and it would be a waste for him not to get the chance to use his brain!

Again, thank you for raising such special animals and sharing them with folks like us.  The difference is obvious, and we are enjoying our special little boy very much!

From Tony and Amy in CO:

Dear Sonia,

Just as we expected, Beija has been a wonderful addition to our family… she is smart, good-natured and confident, and we adore her.  She weighs about 50 pounds now, but her deep bark makes her sound like she’s twice that size when she’s showing her protective side.

I took her to a dog-friendly community fair a while ago, and I was really impressed with how she handled it… her true temperament really shined through, because the more chaotic the environment became, the calmer she was!  She loves playing with other dogs and as you can see from the photo I took today, she loves splashing in water at every opportunity.

Thank you for our wonderful girl… we’ll update you on occasion with her continuing adventures.

From Dana in IL:

Dali/Maddie is doing great!!!  Everyone just loves her and she is such a good girl!!  I think she is going to be a "momma's girl" though. :-)  When I left this morning I put her in bed with my son as she seems to feel a little lost without people company.  I suppose she is still a little lonely from being taken away from her family. We have decided to try the Barf diet so I am going to be making some calls today to the meat companies near us to see if they can help us out, and she will go to puppy classes as soon as she has all her vaccines.

I've started reading the "holistic" approach from the book you gave me to read and find it very interesting...I think I need to go on the diet.  :-).  Anyway... thank you so much for such a wonderful puppy!

From Eddie in NV:

Everyone at the club loves Mojo, he is doing very well at tracking and obedience. The President of the club asked about you (the breeder) and if anymore of Mojo’s litter mates are available? I also take him over to the park almost everyday. They often have girl’s softball games going on with many people around. He’s doing fantastic with behaving in a crowd. Many of the girls go goo, goo over him :) I’ve been letting the little kids pet him and he’s taking to it well.

It’s been very easy to train Mojo and I feel like I couldn’t have found a better GSD puppy. I’m so very proud of him and enjoy everyday of puppyhood. It’s been to easy compare to what many go though raising a puppy.

From Michelle in NC:

I am sending you an update on Bella. She is doing great! I have attached a picture of her that I took today. Her and my golden are becoming better buddies every day. She and my son who is 2 1/2, have fun chasing each other around the house! She runs after him and instead of knocking him down when she catches up with him, she kind of side swipes him gently. She and my daughter who is 5 1/2, get along great too. Bella gives her hundreds of kisses and they lay down together and snuggle. It's very sweet!

From Cheryl (Dr. in Canid Biology) in MO:

Bita is fitting in to the household very well, including learning quickly to respect the two 17-year-old cats.  She loves her daily romps in the nearby park where she enjoys the attention of all the people.  I’m also impressed with how she handles herself with the dogs she meets there.  She’s confident without being aggressive, and she loves playing with the younger dogs.  At home she’s lovable and playful, but content to amuse herself with her toys when I’m busy.  Such a great pup!

From Dave and Beckie in NH:

Cona is doing GREAT! What an amazing pup. We all just love her, even our yorky. She is so sweet and smart. Yesterday she figured out how to let herself out of her crate while Beckie was out, and had a great time getting into their food and bones. I had seen her trying to unlatch the crate before when the yorky was in it but I never thought she could actually get it open. I also can not believe how easy she is to house train. From the first day she seemed to know to go outside. One of the few accidents she had was on the second day, she was pacing in front of our door but I never thought she already knew to go outside. We have had her to the Vet and you will be glad to know he totally agrees with you on subject of too many vaccines being given. And also everyone there thought she was wonderful. Thank you so much for such a wonderful pup. Beckie will send some pictures.

From Vicki and Don in IN:

Sonia,

I can’t tell you how thrilled we are with “Barron”.  He is fitting in wonderfully with our family!  He is VERY smart and amazes us daily.  He has only had one accident indoors and will lightly paw the door to let us know that he needs to go out.  His ball drive is incredible!  He will “fetch” a tennis ball and bring it back to us over 50% of the time, he loves to pull on his toys, and I see him raise his head and sniff the air to find us.  We are raising him on the “BARF” diet, and he is doing wonderfully!  He is a very satisfied pup showing a great aptitude for tracking and work.  He seems fearless and is willing to tackle new experiences, such as steps etc... with great curiosity and determination.   He will bark and alert me when someone comes into the yard, but is eager to meet family members who have come over to meet him.  He has more than met our expectations, and he is only 9 weeks old!!!!  Thanks for rounding out our family!

From Jeff and Betty in NJ:

Hi Sonia,

What a smart girl, just like you had said we are having a great time with her and so are the boys (my two rescues). She is not at all afraid of them tells them right off if need be. She is a quick learner, very inquisitive and seems to already have been exposed to many things in the home. She is not afraid of too much and as we had wanted, she stands her ground.

She has a good appetite, as does everyone in this household. She ventures into everything, has tried the dog doors with no trepidation, as I said, no fear. Thank you for breeding such a well temperamented German shepherd you are a credit to the breed and we so appreciate it.

Hi Sonia,

I wish we could take everyone that's left, we are so happy with Brixi, aka Olivia. She is so so smart and so so easy we have had no problems, she is learning so much so soon and I absolutely love the interaction with the boys. She is so secure and seems to be afraid of nothing, what a difference excellent breeding makes. Both of the boys are wonderful but are both rescues.  One of the trainers I had worked with years ago when I had my first 2 Shepherds, (from a breeder in Mass.) said I would become a "dog snob" which at the time I didn't understand, but he was right. We both have such admiration for, as I said before, excellence. So Sonia again thank you.

From Lisa in TX:

Dear Sonia,

We are really happy with Bianca.  She has been in our family for 5 days now and she has really incorporated herself into the family.  She is very sweet, playful and outgoing.  She is never timid or show any signs of nervousness.  Even when my daughter drags her around the house, Bianca is a good sport.

Bianca's coloring is just what we wanted.  We feel confident she is going to grow up to be a beautiful dog.  Most importantly, Bianca is a very easy puppy to have around.  She is learning things very quickly rather than being one of those puppies that destroys the house.  She was crate trained without ever having one accident in her cage! Thanks for everything.

From Cindy in MO:

Bibi (Hannah for us) is wonderful…absolutely wonderful.  She’s doing just fine with Jake, she slept right next to him last night…whittled her way right between us on the bed, made me laugh.  She is going up and down stairs (on the deck outside) all by herself!

She has only had one accident (pee) in the house, otherwise she’s gone outside.

She’s been a big hit in the neighborhood…all the neighbors have been over visiting and Hannah just eats it right up.

She’s a blessing.

From Terry and Allen in NM:

It's about time we got to sit to write how happy we are with Chloe and Casey (formerly Clarence).  They have met their new vet and were wonderful during their appointment.  They have taken to the new house and surroundings with such ease!  House training is actually going very well considering there are two to keep track of!  They play with each other constantly and are great company for each other.  They're both incredibly smart and yet very tender and sweet.

They want to send a "shout-out" to their other sisters and brothers across the US as well as to Daddy Yello and Mama Quendy.  The picture attached shows them at 10 weeks and 5 days old.......Chloe is resting her head on Casey's back as they get ready to take another puppy-nap!

Again Sonia, thank you for everything - we love them, just love them!

From Cathy in MO:

Sonia,

Cher (aka Reeses--because she looks like a peanut butter cup) is a beautiful and friendly puppy! It's so hard not to hold her all the time.  She follows readily and loves sleeping on our feet while we are sitting on the couch or at our office desk.  She slept through the night by our bed (next to her crate to get used to it) and is responding well to all our family pets; although our cats aren't so thrilled with her.   Aislynn loves her so much, as we all do!  We are so grateful we met you--you truly care for your animals and raise the puppies to be happy and healthy!  I will send pictures to you soon!
